Firefighters from the Emergency Response Team Harties (ERTH), AfriForum Hartbeespoort, and the Tshwane and Madibeng fire departments responded to the scene and prevented the entire centre from going up in flames.
“We received an emergency call shortly after 21:00. According to information, there were potentially victims trapped inside the burning building. Firefighters moved into the structure with two hose lines to conduct an interior sweep for possible victims.
Fortunately, no victims were found. Through coordinated teamwork and rapid intervention, crews were able to contain the fire to a single section of the building, preventing further spread and additional damage,” said Riaan Britz of ERTH.
“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all fire services, police members, and Afrique De Sud K9 Security who were involved. This multi-disciplinary response once again demonstrated the value of cooperation, professionalism, and teamwork during emergency incidents.”
