The South African inflatable boat racing championships will be hosted by the Hartbeespoort Boating Club on 13 and 14 June 2026. The event is one of only three national events in the racing series, making it a key stop on the competitive calendar.
Approximately 50 boats and racers from across the country are expected to take part. “The race will bring together some of the country’s top talent for an action-packed weekend on the water. This is the first national race to be hosted at Hartbeespoort Dam,” said Katy-Ann Marais of Hartbeespoort Boating Club.
“What makes this event especially significant is that teams and boats will be travelling from all over to compete, bringing together some of the country’s top talent for an action-packed weekend on the water. Hartbeespoort Dam is going to be a hub of excitement,” she said.
One of the highlights will be the 120km long-haul race on Sunday, 14 June. Racers have been practising on the dam over the past few weeks.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase an exciting and fast-growing water sport, as well as highlight Hartbeespoort as a premier event destination,” Marais said.
