The gruesome discovery was made by a fisherman near Kosmos Village at approximately 15:00 while he was fishing.
According to police spokesperson Captain Majang Skalkie, the police received a report of a human skeleton floating in the dam on Wednesday afternoon.
“Upon arriving at the scene, police found the human skeleton and removed it. Police in Hartbeespoort have registered an inquest docket,” he said.
