The municipality announced that Brits and the surrounding areas will be without water from 25 to 29 May. The water treatment plant has been shut down to allow for civil, electrical, and mechanical work as part of the Brits Water Treatment Plant upgrade project.
The affected areas are Brits, Sonop, Oukasie, Elandsrand, Damonsville, Mothutlung, parts of Mmakau, Rankotea, Letlhabile, and Maboloka.

Free water collection points are available at Brits Sportsgrounds, SPAR near Olienpark Primary School, Old OK Foods opposite Madibeng Fire Station, Madibeng Mall, Khrisna Pharmacy, Model 3, Brits Primary School, Brits High School, and Olienpark Primary School.
