According to police spokesperson Sergeant Kelebogile Morake, the 15-year-old boy was brought to the Letlhabile Clinic on Tuesday morning with fatal stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the clinic.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was allegedly involved in a confrontation with a 19-year-old suspect who was known to him. During the alleged confrontation, the victim was stabbed multiple times.”
The 19-year-old suspect was traced and arrested in Letlhabile. He had also sustained injuries during the incident and is currently receiving medical attention.
The suspect will appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 27 August 2026, facing a charge of murder.
She said that the circumstances surrounding the stabbing are being investigated.
Police appeal to anyone who may have information about the incident that could assist the police with the investigation to come forward and provide the information at the nearest police station.
“The investigation is ongoing, and police will refrain from disclosing information that could potentially compromise the investigation,” she said.
